With stunning views of the Allegheny River Valley, Longue Vue is a premiere golf venue featuring a challenging Robert White designed golf course with unique horticultural gardens and meticulously manicured fairways and greens.
The Longue Vue Club golf course enjoys the reputation as being challenging, yet fair, with no two holes being similar. Punctuating the golfer's experience on this superbly conditioned course are sweeping vista views of the Allegheny River Valley, colorful flower beds, trees of every size and numerous species and the more than occasional wildlife sightings. Championship tees play to 6,647 yards; the middle tees to 6,114 and the forward tees to 5,562.
Longue Vue Club has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments and continues to do so...including the USGA Girls Championship (1966), the Tri-State PGA Championship (1972), the Women's Western Championship (1976), the Pennsylvania Amateur Championship (1985), The Pennsylvania State Open (1988, 1995), The 100 Anniversary Western Pennsylvania Open (2000), The Frank B. Fuhrer Invitational Pittsburgh Open (2003), The Pennsyvania Mid-Amateur (2003), The Pennsylvania State Open (2004), The U.S. Senior Open Qualifier (2004) and, in 2007 will host the Pennsylvania State Amateur Championship.
In the fall of 2001, a master plan commenced to return the course to the design of its original architect, Robert White. A new irrigation system was installed ensuring members and guests of lush fairways and fast greens. Bunkers were also sculpted to more closely resemble the original design.
The Club's Professional Staff is headed by Steve Antenucci. In addition to an expansive practice facility, Steve and his staff have added a state-of-the-art digital JC Video system for instruction. In addition to P
private lessons, group golf lessons are offered for ladies and beginner and intermediate golf camps are available for juniors.
